Machievelli

Machiavelli once said that it is better for a ruler to be feared then to be loved. I do not agree with this statement. If you are a ruler and someone fears you, they will soon begin to hate you. If people begin to hate you, they will most likely want to get rid of you because of how cruel you are. I think that Machiavelli made this statement because he believed  that if people fear you, they will respect you and serve you. But if they do serve you it will be out of fear not loyalty. I believe that it is better for a ruler to be loved because they will respect and serve you out of love. If you are a lovable ruler though you will need to be strong. If you are a ruler you do not want to seem like a pushover. So if you want to be loved, you must be strong.

Propaganda Effectiveness

This is a propaganda poster during World War 1. The purpose of this propaganda poster is too show that Germany is evil and is destroying civilization. The Gorilla represents Germany and the Club represents German culture. The women represents American civilization. The poster is telling people to "Destroy the Mad Brute" which is Germany.

This Nazi poster from 1930 is telling fellow Germans to support the Nazi party because they offer work, freedom, and food.

This picture is an Allied poster saying that Hitler wants to destroy countries and their people and that we have to stop him before its too late.
